1965 Aston Martin DB5

This 1965 Aston Martin DB5 is one of approximately 900 coupes built during the model’s two years of production and is a left-hand-drive example that is said to have been ordered new by Saudi Arabian Prince Abdul Ilah bin Abdulaziz, to whom it was delivered at the Royal Palace in Jeddah. Chassis DB5/2270/L subsequently made its way to the US, where it was sold in the early 1990s to a Florida owner who commissioned an overhaul of the 4.0-liter DOHC inline-six to Vantage specification in 1993. After spending eight years in a Maryland collector’s museum, the car was sold in 2013 to an owner who sent it to Kevin Kay Restorations in Redding, California, for a refurbishment that included a repaint in its original shade of Caribbean Pearl and a re-trim of the interior in Dark Blue leather. It was then purchased in 2014 by an owner who commissioned further work by Kevin Kay Restorations including corrections to the factory-specified Normalair air conditioning system before displaying the car at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The car again changed hands in 2023 and was purchased by the selling dealer in 2026. Features include triple Weber carburetors, a ZF five-speed manual transmission, servo-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, 15” wire wheels, and a period-look Motorola radio with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. This DB5 is now offered in Newport Beach, California, with an owner’s manual, a tool kit, and a Montana title.
