‘World leaders amazed by India’s AI progress’: PM Modi highlights breakthroughs in Mann Ki Baat

Speaking during Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister said the recently held India AI Impact Summit 2026 marked a major milestone in the global development of artificial intelligence. He said the summit brought together global leaders, technology experts, innovators and startup representatives, demonstrating India’s growing capabilities in the AI sector. According to the Prime Minister, the summit proved to be “a turning point in the trajectory of how the world will utilise the power of AI in the future.” He added that international delegates were particularly impressed by the technological innovations showcased by India. The Prime Minister highlighted two major examples that drew global attention during the summit. The first was an artificial intelligence-based system displayed at the dairy cooperative Amul, where AI tools are being used to assist farmers in livestock management and animal healthcare. He explained that the technology allows farmers to monitor livestock health with round-the-clock AI-based assistance, improving productivity and animal care. The second example involved the use of artificial intelligence to preserve India’s cultural heritage. He said global leaders were impressed by how AI is being used to digitise and preserve ancient manuscripts, traditional knowledge and historical texts while making them accessible to modern generations. The Prime Minister also noted that several “Made in India” AI models were launched during the summit, reflecting the country’s growing technological capabilities. During the broadcast, the Prime Minister also warned citizens about rising cases of online financial fraud and so-called “digital arrest” scams. He said senior citizens and unsuspecting individuals often fall victim to such crimes and urged people to remain vigilant while dealing with online transactions. He advised citizens to comply with bank requests for Know Your Customer (KYC) updates, stressing that such procedures help ensure the safety of bank accounts and financial assets. The Prime Minister also spoke about Indian-origin players participating in international cricket tournaments and said their achievements bring pride to India. He noted that many overseas Indians remain deeply connected to their cultural roots while contributing to the development of the countries where they live. Referring to the ongoing effort to move away from colonial-era symbols, the Prime Minister said India is increasingly recognising and celebrating its own cultural heritage. He mentioned that a statue of C. Rajagopalachari, the first Indian Governor-General, would be unveiled at the presidential estate. Addressing students preparing for examinations, the Prime Minister encouraged them to stay confident and not judge their abilities solely on academic results. He said students should trust themselves and focus on their preparation rather than worrying about outcomes. The Prime Minister also paid tribute to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on her birth anniversary. He further referred to the revival of the historic Mamangam festival tradition in Kerala, describing it as an example of India reconnecting with its cultural heritage. The Prime Minister said India’s progress in technology, culture and innovation reflects the country’s growing confidence and global standing.
