Zimbabwe launches new ZiG banknotes as central bank targets stability after years of currency turmoil
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has introduced a new series of Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) banknotes as it seeks to restore confidence in the local currency after decades of instability. The redesigned ZiG10, ZiG20 and ZiG50 notes will enter circulation on 7 April 2026, while the ZiG100 and ZiG200 will follow once authorities believe conditions are right.
